Walk-Up Hype ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data Walk-Up Hype collects, how it is used, and your choices.

Data Stored on Your Device

All team, player, and game data you enter into Walk-Up Hype is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data includes player names, jersey numbers, positions, walk-up song selections, and announcement preferences. We do not have access to this data and it is never transmitted to our servers.

Data We Collect

Walk-Up Hype collects minimal data to operate the app:

Announcement text — When you use the Premium AI voice, the announcement script (e.g., "Now batting, number 7, Jake Callahan") is sent to our secure voice generation proxy to produce audio. This text is not stored after the audio is generated.
Subscription token — A cryptographic token from your App Store subscription is sent with voice generation requests solely to verify your Premium entitlement. We do not receive or store your Apple ID or payment information.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal contact information.
We do not use advertising SDKs or track you across apps.
We do not sell data to third parties.

Analytics

Walk-Up Hype uses PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics such as app launches, walk-up plays, and paywall views. This data is not linked to your identity and is used only to understand how the app is used and improve it over time. No personal information is included in these events. Apple Search Ads Attribution

If you downloaded Walk-Up Hype after tapping an Apple Search Ad, we use Apple's AdServices framework to understand which ad led to the install. This data is used solely to measure the effectiveness of our own advertising and is not shared with third parties. No personal information is collected through this process.

Apple Music

Walk-Up Hype uses Apple's MusicKit and MediaPlayer frameworks to let you select walk-up songs and play between-innings playlists from your Apple Music library. We do not access, store, or transmit your music library data. All music playback is handled directly by Apple's frameworks on your device.

In-App Purchases

Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment information. Your subscription status is verified through Apple's transaction receipts.

Third-Party Services

Walk-Up Hype's premium voice feature routes requests through a Cloudflare Worker proxy, which calls Fish Audio's text-to-speech API. The proxy does not log or store announcement content. Fish Audio's privacy policy is available at their website.

The free-tier voice uses Apple's on-device speech synthesis (AVSpeechSynthesizer). No data is sent to any server for free-tier voice generation.

Children's Privacy

Walk-Up Hype is designed for use by coaches and parents. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Player names entered into the app are stored only on your device and never transmitted to us.

Data Retention

All app data is stored on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app. Generated voice audio files are cached on your device and can be cleared through your device settings.
